The film centers on the recruitment of Olympic wrestling champions Mark and Dave Schultz by the eccentric multi-millionaire John du Pont to form "Team Foxcatcher." The trio trains for the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea. However, John du Pont's self-destructive behavior threatens to consume the team as they pursue their goals.
