First Man is a 2018 American biographical drama film that looks back at the life of astronaut Neil Armstrong and the legendary space mission that led him to walk on the Moon on July 20, 1969. Directed by Damien Chazelle, the film follows the years leading up to the Apollo 11 mission. It is based on James R. Hansen's book and stars Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong alongside other cast members.
