The story follows Daniel LaRusso, an Italian-American teenager from New Jersey who moves to California. When Daniel becomes the target of a gang of Cobra Kai dojo students, he is saved by the unassuming martial arts master, Mr. Miyagi. Daniel convinces Mr. Miyagi to teach him expert Karate skills so he can defend himself and defeat his ruthless rivals. Through this experience, the bullied teen learns life lessons and the right moves to overcome his challenges.
