The fifth season of The X-Files featured a grumpy old man with psychic powers who assisted the agents in hunting a crazed killer who targeted psychics. This character also cryptically revealed to Mulder and Scully their ultimate fates. The season consisted of 20 episodes, partly due to the filming and production of the feature film, The X-Files: Fight the Future.
