Handling

A family, including a frustrated writer, his increasingly fearful wife, and their psychic son, heads to an isolated hotel for the winter. As they are sequestered at the snowbound Overlook Hotel, a sinister presence influences the father into violence. Simultaneously, the psychic son experiences horrifying forebodings from both the past and the future. The family is plunged into a vortex of madness and violence that seems to emanate from the haunted corridors of the building itself.
