Handling

The film follows Jay Bulworth (Warren Beatty), a financially ruined and suicidally disillusioned liberal senator who is disillusioned with politics. In a move to be bluntly honest with his voters, the forlorn statesman orders a contract killing. As he navigates these events, Bulworth uses the opportunity to speak his mind in public by affecting the rhythms and speech of hip-hop music and culture. The comedy also tackles serious issues such as race, health care, and corporate influence in politics, all while featuring a love story.
