The Tripods is a television adaptation of John Christopher's novels, jointly produced by the BBC in the United Kingdom and the Seven Network in Australia. Series One covers the first book of the trilogy, The White Mountains, while adding several characters and subplots to the original story. The series consisted of 13 half-hour episodes and featured a music soundtrack written by Ken Freeman.
